Nathan, an 8-year-old hairless Chinese crested proves that bald is beautiful and that he can dance! This cute dog just loves to get his groove on, wiggling and swaying in his favorite green chair.
One day, Nathan’s owner decided to shoot a video of her doggie dancer and post it online.
She never expected that his video would be such a huge success, but thousands of likes and shares showed that everyone can’t stop talking about her dancing dog. Once his video was featured on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, it went viral, making this cute bald dog an internet sensation all over the world. Nathan’s moves have been likened to a canine “Gangnam Style.”
But even with the best dance moves didn’t always have so much to dance about. In 2008, this dancing dog was taken in by a dog rescue in Ohio after his owner had died. Nathan and his brother were left home alone for more than a week after their owner’s death before they were saved.
After that tragedy, this poor dog experienced several more. Every family who adopted this dog returned him within the year, so Nathan was passed from home to home before the Bald is Beautiful (BisB), a South Carolina shelter that specializes in rehabilitating dogs, found and saved him. By that time he had stopped trusting people, started fearing men, and would respond to almost anything with aggression.
Thanks to kindness, patience, and positive training, Nathan started to trust people again. And after about a year at BisB shelter, Nathan found his forever home that was right there under his nose. After spending so much time caring for and getting to know Nathan his foster mom finally decided to adopt him in 2012. He is now part of a very happy family; he has two brothers, Gilligan and Kramer, and also lives with another adopted hairless dog, Diamond.
While Nathan has found his happy ever after, there are plenty of other awesome dogs at BisB shelter just waiting for the perfect family to come along.
